BETH SPEARMEN, Intern Coach, CrossFit Level I Certified
Competition: NCAA - Rice University Pole Vault, BCCF MegaFest Team 2009/2010, CFDC All Cities Open Individual 2009
Beth is an athlete through and through. If it has to do with sports, count her in! She spent her younger years competing in gymnastics and playing basketball. While attending Rice University, she decided to walk on to the track team and learn to pole vault. Fast forward 4 years and upon graduation she had earned a full scholarship, NCAA All-American honors, four conference titles, and two school records. Beth was able to travel and compete in the US and Europe for two years following graduation as a professional. After retiring from pole vaulting, Beth was looking for a way to stay in shape and the gym just wasn’t cutting it. She stumbled upon Crossfit and began doing WODs at the local globo gym and even getting kicked out for throwing things around! Shortly thereafter, Grace found Beth and they started meeting at different places to do WODs around the neighborhood. She’s been in love with Crossfit ever since!
Beth’s training philosophy is simple: Go Hard or Go Home. No matter how much weight you’re lifting or how fast you’re going; you can always work hard. If you don’t want to do it, then don’t; no one is making you do this. Her favorite thing to see is a bunch of people lying on the floor after a WOD!

Competition: San Antonio Highland Games 2011, CFE Fall Brewses Team 2011
Masters of Arts from Sam Houston State University Sport Management (EAT 'EM UP, KATS!!)
4 Year Letterman, Football (Linebacker), SHSU Bearkats
Will has been doing all manners of exercises, mainly weightlifting, since the age of 14 due to his participation in American football. Following his graduation from SHSU in 2006, he began his career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. This was short lived and after brief stints at various performance training centers, he landed as a middle school health and PE teacher in FBISD. Along the way he found a love for Olympic Weightlifting (the ONLY power lifting ;) ). Under the tuteledge of Coach Tim Swords (USAW Team Houston and USAW's current member of the Coaching, Education & Program Committee), he has gained experience as an Olympic Weightlifting Coach. During his time at Sam Houston and Ole Miss, Will gained an appreciation for the Scottish Highland Games, which he currently competes in. His philosophy on training is simple: Technique is key. Without it, the most efficient machine on the planet, the human body, can't perform as it should.

Crossfit is fitness. I believe that everyone ready and willing can benefit from the functionality of Crossfit. Getting the opportunity to help form the way our area’s youth moves, eats, thinks and reacts is very exciting for me.
My entire family crossfits. I believe in this so wholeheartedly that it drives our families meals, free time and most of the time conversations. My three boys will live their lives healthier, happier and fit. This is my biggest accomplishment as a mother. Passing functional fitness on to the next generation is essential and I couldn’t be more honored to do that at Atomic Crossfit.
